Peak Season Playbook: Preparing Your Moving Company SEO by April

Why April decides your summer

Moving demand explodes between May and August, and search behavior shifts weeks earlier: customers research movers in April and May, then book. Rankings take eight to twelve weeks to respond to new content, which means the pages you want ranking in June must exist by early spring.

Every month here is sequenced backward from that math.

January and February: the foundation

1 Technical health check on the whole site
2 Claim and correct every listing
3 Quote flow tested on mobile
4 Tracking verified end to end

Slow season is for fixing what breaks under load. A quote form that fails on mobile in June is a tragedy; fixing it in January is a Tuesday.

March: build the route pages

Publish one page per high-value route and city pair you serve: city to city long distance moves, local neighborhoods, storage-heavy relocations. Each page answers pricing ranges, timelines, and parking or elevator realities for that route. Our moving-company SEO playbook builds these route pages for you. This is the content that ranks when April researchers start comparing.

April: prime the reviews engine

Ask every customer from the winter months for a review now, so your profile shows fresh velocity exactly when comparison shoppers start reading. Reply to every review with specifics. Review recency and response rate are two of the strongest levers you control heading into peak.

The May checklist

By May, verify the machine: route pages indexed, quotes flowing, phones answered within three rings, and the profile showing fresh reviews weekly. Anything not indexed by mid-May gets pruned or merged, because a thin unindexed page helps nothing in June.

What to do in season

In season, your job is capacity, not publishing. Keep replying to reviews within a day, keep the calendar accurate on the profile, and collect emails from every booked customer for the off-season list. Then run the same playbook next January from a stronger base, because every peak season you win makes the next one cheaper.
